<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer actuator and an actuator device which can be downsized and obtain a high output. <P>SOLUTION: In a polymer actuator 2, when voltage is applied to a position between a positive electrode plate 10 and a negative electrode plate 11 by power supply B through positive electrode wiring 15 and negative electrode wiring 16, a negatively-charged polymer gel 12 is attracted to the positive electrode plate 10 by Coulomb attraction and is compressively deformed. When application of the voltage is stopped, the polymer actuator 2 is returned to the original state by an elastic force of the polymer gel 12 containing a dielectric polymer.
