<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a stray current generated when selectively energizing a channel electrode for responding to a small-size sheet in a configuration dividing the electrode, and prevent trouble caused by the generation of the stray current. <P>SOLUTION: A resistance heat generating layer 8 is formed on a planar substrate 20 having a uniform thickness and material, and electrodes 22 and 23 are disposed facing each other for energizing in a paper passing direction. One of them is provided with a channel electrode 22a and a channel electrode 22b juxtaposed thereon and the other is a common electrode. The channel electrode 22 is divided according to the size of a fixing object sheet. Assuming that the length of a clearance between the channel electrode 22a and the channel electrode 22b is C, and a distance between the electrode 22a or the electrode 22b and the common electrode 23 facing thereto is a width L of the heat generating area, the following relationship is satisfied: L≤C≤2L, thereby preventing the flowing of the stray current. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
