<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate setting error and time loss by automatically discriminating equipment determination connected to a port of a terminal network control device, and by switching the D/M port concerned to a corresponding setting. <P>SOLUTION: In a D/M port 2 for switching a 5-bit port terminal/contact point equipment terminal mounted on the terminal network control device (NCU), a 5-bit meter or contact point equipment connected to the D/M port 2 is automatically discriminated, so as to switch equipment setting connected to the D/M port 2. In the case of a wired terminal network control device 1-1, a line voltage is confirmed, while in the case of a wireless terminal network control device, a status check of the D/M port 2 is started when a peer combination is confirmed.
