The positive electrode active material may be expressed in the following chemical formula 1, and may contain particles, the mean diameter of which is 200 nm to 1 µm, wherein the surfaces of the particles are coated with a uniform carbon coating layer. [Chemical formula 1]: LiaMn1-xMxPO4 (where, M is any one or a mixture of any two or more elements selected from among Mg, Fe, Co, Cr, Ti, Ni, Cu, Zn, Zr, Nb and Mo, and where a satisfies 0.9 = a = 1.1 and x satisfies 0 = x < 0.5).
