A communications unit has a plurality of antennas, and controls the transmission directivity of the plurality of antennas on the basis of a known signal from a communications terminal when transmitting a signal using the plurality of antennas. A wireless resource allocation unit allocates the communications terminal with an uplink frequency band to be used in transmitting the known signal from a plurality of unit frequency bands arranged in frequency direction. When allocating a new uplink frequency band for the communications terminal, the wireless resource allocation unit determines the new uplink frequency band in accordance with the time that has elapsed since the unit frequency band was last used as the uplink frequency band. |
