<p>The method involves controlling functions of individual keys of a remote controller (4) using a control unit (16) of an electronic device (1) for disabling each key of the remote controller such that a command associated with a function of the electronic device is ignored, suppressed or disabled. Multiple user profiles for different remote control layouts are stored in the remote controller, where each user profile include a unique functional limitation and created manually or pre-stored in a memory device (9) of the electronic device.
