The circuit (1) has a limiter circuit (36) connected to two terminals (3, 4) of a load i.e. vehicle alternator, where the limiter circuit includes a control circuit (37) and a controlled n-channel MOSFET (5). The control circuit is formed to control the MOSFET in response to a non-conductive or a conductive state, so that the MOSFET is switched to allow a current to flow through the limiting circuit when a predetermined voltage is reached. The limiter circuit includes a voltage drop effecting unit for limiting a voltage applied to the MOSFET.
