摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize peak power of optical packet signals in an optical packet exchange device provided with an optical amplifier. <P>SOLUTION: An optical packet exchange device 10 includes: an optical packet switch 12 for switching a route of inputted optical packet signals and outputting them; an input side packet density monitoring part 66 for detecting a packet density of the optical packet signals inputted to the optical packet switch 12; a first input side optical amplifier 24 provided on the input side of the optical packet switch 12; a first input side variable optical attenuator 28 provided in the subsequent stage of the first input side optical amplifier 24; a storage part 74 for storing gain characteristics for the packet density that the first input side optical amplifier 24 has; and an input side VOA control part 68 for controlling the attenuation amount of the first input side variable optical attenuator 28 so as to compensate gain fluctuation due to packet density fluctuation in the first input side optical amplifier 24 on the basis of the packet density and the gain characteristics. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
