The invention relates to a solid organic scintillator including a polymer matrix, in which one or more fluorophoric compounds and one or more chemical elements having an atomic number of 40 to 83 are dispersed, characterised in that said scintillator has at least 5 wt % of said chemical elements relative to the total weight of the scintillator, and in that the scintillator emits an emission spectrum including an emission peak at a wavelength of at least 550 nm.
