Improvements in the production of perforated non-woven fibre fleeces

A multiple number of spaced apertures are produced through a non-woven fibre fleece by passing a stream of superheated steam through a perforate surface and through the fleece against an imperforate backing surface while keeping the fleece between the perforate and imperforate backing surfaces, the stream of steam having sufficient velocity to displace individual fibres of the fleece. The other conditions for carrying out the process are the same as those described in the parent Specification.
