PURPOSE: An ink tank and inkjet recording system are provided to enhance the reliability with respect to a protection of a LED from external impact because the state in which LED and light receiving unit are separated is obtained when a supporting member is maximally displaced. CONSTITUTION: An ink tank(1) comprises an ink carrier, a supporting member(30), and a light emitting part(51). The supporting member can be elastically displaced. The ink tank comprises a front side(1a), a rear side(1b), a bottom side(1c), an upper side(1c), and a lateral side. The supporting member and a case member are formed into a body with resin materials. The supporting member becomes a supporting point part while a portion integrally connected to the case member is displaced. A first joining unit(21) and second joining unit(32) are arranged in the front and rear sides. The first and second joining units are formed in the locking part of an ink tank holder side.
