<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape printer which enables a user to select whether to reduce the amount of tape used in enlarged printing, and to provide a control method and a program. <P>SOLUTION: The tape printer 1 includes: a tape width detecting part (discriminating sensor 19) which detects a tape width; a layout calculating part (layout calculating program 33a) which calculates enlarged layout information that shows the arrangement of characters and figures that compose an enlarged printing image; a margin deciding part (margin deciding program 33b) which calculates widths of an upper margin and an lower margin of the enlarged printing image on the basis of the enlarged layout information and decides whether the sum of the margins is equal to or larger than the tape width; an image data generating part (image data generating program 33c) which generates image data of the enlarged printing image on the basis of the enlarged layout information; and a printing part (printing program 33d) which sequentially prints the image data of the enlarged printing image to one or a plurality of tape portions except a part of the upper margin and lower margin, on the basis of the decision result of the margin deciding part and settings of a margin delete setting part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
