<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device and a communication method which can easily identify each other's communication address between a communication device included in an apparatus to be charged and a communication device included in a charger. <P>SOLUTION: A communication device 200 included in an apparatus to be charged comprises: a common ID calculation part 201 which calculates a first common ID based on a regulation parameter defining a temporary charge period that is prior to a main charge period and shorter than the main charge period; a reception processing part 202 which receives a signal including a second common ID calculated by a charger; and a common ID comparison part 203 which determines the received signal by the reception processing part 202 as a signal addressed to own device if the first common ID is matched with the second common ID. Thus, since the communication device 200 calculates the common ID based on the regulation parameter which is detectable in the temporary charge, a same ID can be possessed between the communication device 200 and the other communication devices included in the charger.
