<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery capable of maintaining battery performance even after long-term use. <P>SOLUTION: In a flat type battery 10 (secondary battery), a stacked electrode body having a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator 22 is accommodated together with an electrolyte in an exterior member 30. The flat type battery has a plurality of joined parts 40 where the outer periphery of the separator is joined with the exterior member. A holding part 50 holding the electrolyte is formed at least between the joined parts.
