<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance an estimation accuracy of a longitudinal force, a lateral force, and a vertical force exerted on a tire. <P>SOLUTION: Each n number of first and second strain sensors are evenly spaced circumferentially on the side wall sections at both ends. A maximum gain line is tilted circumferentially in one direction at an angle θ of 45°. Tire strain is measured by the first and second strain sensors at the same time at a predetermined tire angle of rotation position Q. A longitudinal force Fx is estimated with an estimation formula using as a variable the sum (N<SB POS="POST">VA</SB>+N<SB POS="POST">VB</SB>) of the average value N<SB POS="POST">VA</SB>of n outputs VA of the first strain sensor and the average value N<SB POS="POST">VB</SB>of n outputs VB of the second strain sensor. A lateral force Fy is estimated with an estimation formula using as a variable the difference (N<SB POS="POST">VA</SB>-N<SB POS="POST">VB</SB>) of the average values N<SB POS="POST">VA</SB>, N<SB POS="POST">VB</SB>. A vertical force Fz is estimated with an estimation formula using a variable the difference (N<SB POS="POST">VF</SB>-N<SB POS="POST">VR</SB>) of the average value N<SB POS="POST">VF</SB>of the sensor outputs VF of the first and second strain sensors in a front side region and the average value N<SB POS="POST">VR</SB>of the sensor outputs VR of the first and second strain sensors in a back side region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
