<PICT:0955959/C3/1> A textured sponge rubber sheet is formed by placing a synthetic or natural rubber mix with a blowing agent, e.g. sodium bicarbonate, on two performated carrier layers 1, 3, and then vulcanizing the mix between heated plates 6, 6a. The vulcanization takes place at such a speed that the mix is completely vulcanized as it leaves the plates. The composition may include rubbery copolymers of butadiene with styrene, acrylonitrile or methyl isopropenyl ketone, polyisoprene, neoprene, and butyl rubbers. |
