The present invention provides a tower-type contactor for bringing gas and liquid into contact with each other in an upflow state in a tower-type container, wherein a honeycomb structure having two or more tiers is longitudinally housed in the tower-type container, a space part is formed between the tiers of the honeycomb structure having two or more tiers, a rectification part serving as a backflow prevention means is installed in noncontact with the honeycomb structure in the space part between the tiers, and the rectification part has a plurality of holes with a hole diameter of 0.5-8 mm.
