PURPOSE: An image display device is provided to broaden up/down viewing angle of a three-dimensional image without degrading the brightness of a two-dimensional image. CONSTITUTION: A display device selectively implements a two-dimensional image and a three-dimensional image. A first retarder and a second retarder are formed in a patterned retarder(20). The first retarder passes through light from the display device. The second retarder passes through the light from the display device.
