A retractable bollard assembly (1) including: a longitudinal frame (2) that includes a plurality of longitudinal first guide members (3) each having an axis (4) at least substantially parallel to the axis (4) of each other first guide member (3); a bollard (5) that includes a plurality of second guide members (6) coupled to the bollard (5); wherein each second guide member (6) is cooperatively slidingly engaged with a corresponding first guide member (3) and can move from a first extreme position relative to the corresponding first guide member (3) where the bollard (5) is in an extended state relative to the frame (2), to a second extreme position relative to the corresponding first guide member (3) where the bollard (5) is in a retracted state relative to the frame (2). 1 of 3 figure 1 |
