<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image having excellent productivity, high charging characteristics and excellent low-temperature fixability, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A toner for developing an electrostatic charge image contains toner particles. The toner particles contain, as a resin, a polymer having a structural unit represented by the general formula (1). (In the formula, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>represents a 1C to 8C alkyl group optionally having a substituent. R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>each represent a hydrogen atom, -OR<SP POS="POST">4</SP>or -OCOR<SP POS="POST">5</SP>.
