<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make deformation or rigidity satisfactory in a connecting wall between a skirt and a pin boss in a piston for an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: The piston 10 for the internal combustion engine has the connecting wall 24 extending between the skirt 20 and the pin boss 18. The connecting wall 24 includes a skirt sidewall 24s that protrudes outward the piston 10, is located in a side of the skirt 20 and formed to have a curved shape of a first curvature radius R1 and a pin boss sidewall 24p that is located closer to the pin boss 18 than the skirt sidewall 24s and formed to have a curved shape of a second curvature radius R2 smaller than the first curvature radius R1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
