Provided is an edge-light type lighting apparatus, wherein light emitted from light sources is concentrated efficiently, enabling radiation of intense light. In a lighting apparatus (1) having light sources (3) arranged at side end-faces (4) of a light-guiding plate (2) thereof, a back-face lens-formed section (20) and a front-face lens-formed section (22) are formed at a back face (7) and a front face (6) of the light-guiding plate (2), to concentrate and reflect light efficiently. With this edge-light type lighting apparatus (1), light emitted from light sources (3) can be concentrated efficiently with the two lens-formed sections (20, 22) arranged at a curved-surface section at the back face (7), and at a curved-surface section at the front face, to enable radiation of the light as intense light.
