<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable negative electrode for a storage battery, preventing occurrence of a short circuit due to a released carbon component by preventing the release of the carbon component from a storage battery negative electrode, the carbon component being contained in the negative electrode in order to improve charge acceptance ability of the negative electrode. <P>SOLUTION: A negative electrode plate for a lead acid battery contains, in a chemically converted negative electrode active material, 0.5 mass% or more and 5.0 mass% or less of carbon with an average particle size of 1 μm or less, and 0.1 mass% or more and 1.0 mass% or less of colloidal silica with an average particle size of 0.2 μm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
