PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a substitute operation itself by setting to make player characters substitutable on a game screen.

SOLUTION: This game device includes: a substituted character recognizing means for recognizing a character 108 to be substituted by bringing an instructing means 107 into contact with the character 108; a substituted character determining means for determining the recognized character 108 as the substituted character by moving the recognized character to a substituted character determination region (the end of a monitor 3a); and a candidate character list display means for displaying a candidate list 101 of characters on an image display part based on the determination of the substituted character. The instructing means 107 is brought into contact with a candidate in the candidate list to display the character on the image display part in place of an input character after determining the character to be input.
