<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing heat transfer tube deflection preventing bars that shortens working hours. <P>SOLUTION: The method for fixing the heat transfer tube deflection preventing bars includes a stacking process for sequentially arranging and stacking deflection preventing bars X1 having tip caps 10 at the ends, respectively between a plurality of heat transfer tubes Y1 horizontally arranged and stacked, so that the tip parts of the deflection preventing bars X1 are in preset reference positions, and a welding process for welding the welded surfaces of the plurality of tip caps 10 respectively to fixing members. In the stacking process, holding tools 14 having reference surfaces 16 parallel with the welded surfaces of the tip caps 10 are used to hold the tip caps 10 in the projected state of the welded surfaces and in such a manner that the reference surfaces 16 are parallel with the welded surfaces, and further the holding tools 14 are also stacked when stacking the deflection preventing bars X1. In the welding process, the reference surfaces 16 of the holding tools 14 are adjusted to be flush.
