<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bait holder allowing a user to easily, sanitarily and quickly attach a fishing bait (silver-strip round herring). <P>SOLUTION: The bait holder 11 includes a fishing hook 15, a sinker head 16, and an auxiliary arm 17. A first guard 25 and a second guard 31 are attached to a shaft 18 of the fishing hook 15. These guards are extended upward from both sides of the shaft 18 to support the fishing bait from sides so that the body of the bait does not collapse. The auxiliary arm 17 is displaced between an approximated posture approximated to the shaft 18 and a separated posture separated from the shaft 18. The auxiliary arm 17 has a fixing needle 42. When the auxiliary arm 17 is in the approximated posture, the fixing needle 42 is stuck into the spine of the fishing bait. The auxiliary arm 17 also has an engagement part 49 at the other end 48, and the approximated posture is retained as the engagement part 49 is engaged with the shaft 18.
