<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance and recovery apparatus that maintains a facing interval between a carriage and a member facing to the carriage at a constant to improve adhesion and cleaning properties with the facing member. <P>SOLUTION: The maintenance and recovery apparatus 3 includes: a liquid droplet ejection head 2A; the carriage 2 that installs the head 2A and reciprocatively moves in a direction orthogonal to a carrying direction of recording paper; a member 3C that generates force for displacing the carriage 2, such as a cap 3A for moisturizing the head 2A and a cap 3B for sucking, and further a wiper blade 3C1. The apparatus is arranged on a moving path of the carriage 2. When the carriage 2 moves to a position facing to the cap 3A and 3B or the wiper blade 3C1, the apparatus includes a carriage movement regulator 13 for regulating a movement of the carriage 2 in a direction facing the head 2 to the cap 3A and 3B or the wiper blade 3C1, the direction corresponding to a direction orthogonal to a reciprocative movement direction of the carriage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
