The method involves providing an electric circuit (8) for monitoring a line network (9). A resistance (6) of the circuit is assigned to one of high voltage components (3) e.g. electric motors, of the network. A total resistance of the circuit is detected. Change of the total resistance is monitored. An action is performed relative to the network when the resistance change is detected larger than a preset value. The circuit is provided with a contact-breaker point (5) associated to one of the components. Two points of the circuit is short-circuited when the contact-breaker point is closed. An independent claim is also included for a monitoring device for monitoring a line network for a vehicle.
