<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an escalator including a movable hand rail which can be used more suitably. <P>SOLUTION: The escalator 10 includes: a movable hand rail 20; a tension band that is embedded in the movable hand rail 20; an eddy current generating device 50 that is provided outside the movable hand rail 20 and generates an eddy current flowing in the tension band; and a control board 70 that actuates the eddy current generating device 50 when a surface temperature T of the movable hand rail 20 is lower than a first temperature, and stops the eddy current generating device 50 when the surface temperature T of the movable hand rail 20 is higher than a second temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
