PURPOSE: A composition containing Triticum aestivum Lamarck leaf extract or fraction thereof is provided to suppress expression of PPAR gamma and FAS and to prevent and treat hyperlipidemia or fatty liver. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating hyperlipidemia or fatty liver contains dichloromethane fraction of Triticum aestivum Lamarck extract as an active ingredient. The fraction suppresses PPAR gamma(peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma) protein and FAS(fatty acid synthase) expression. A health food composition for preventing or treating obesity contains the fraction as an active ingredient.
