The invention provides a method, an apparatus and a system for reference link negotiation. A first joint device receives Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) negotiation messages sent from a second joint device through all the sub links of an aggregation link group, wherein the LACP negotiation messages carry the system priority and reference link information of the second joint device; the first joint device sets, according to the system priority of the second joint device, the reference link chosen by the second joint device and the reference link chosen by itself to be the same, so that the joint devices at the two ends of a Trunk port choose the same sub link as the reference link of the two ends through negotiation, and the occurrence of the problems of LACP negotiation failure and Trunk port fault which are caused by the inconsistency of reference link choice can be avoided.
