POLARIZING PLATE AND LIQUID-CRYSTAL DISPLAY

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate and liquid-crystal display having a cellulose acylate-based protective film which is a thin film with low haze and has sufficient ultraviolet absorbability to prevent panel deterioration.

SOLUTION: The polarizing plate is formed by sandwiching a polarizer between a protective film A and a protective film B. The protective film A is a cellulose acylate film which: at least contains cellulose acylate with the total degree of acyl substitution 2.0-2.5 and an ultraviolet absorber represented by the general formula (Ab) with the maximum absorption wavelength 380 nm or less; and has a phase difference with in-plane retardation Ro in the range of 30-90 nm and thickness retardation Rth in the range of 70-300 nm.
