<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid valve in which pressure loss of fluid passing through an opening part of a valve element is reduced while the flow direction is switchable, and to provide a four-ports selector valve mechanism using the solenoid valve. <P>SOLUTION: The solenoid valve 10 includes: a valve seat 38 having an opening part 40; and a valve element 42 formed of an upper valve element part 42a and a lower valve element part 42b which close and open the opening part 40. The lower valve element 42b is formed in a projection part, the projection part is formed enough in size to cover the opening part 40 with a plane view, and a circumferential projection 42 which abuts on the valve seat 38 to close the opening part 40 is provided in the outer periphery of the projection part. The projection part is finished by specular finishing. A heat insulating layer 44 is provided between the upper valve element part 42a and the lower valve element part 42b. A casing part 14 includes an upper chamber 30 and a lower chamber 32 communicated with a port, into/from which the fluid selectively flows through the valve seat 38.
