<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet type image forming apparatus capable of easily and reliably executing attaching and detaching working of a carriage to and from its moving unit. <P>SOLUTION: A joining member for joining the carriage and the moving unit is provided separately from the carriage. A guide part which is a guide in connecting the joining member and the carriage, an ink discharge direction and position determining part and a carriage moving direction and position determining part for positioning the joining member and the carriage, and a holding part for integrally holding the carriage and the joining member are provided on one of the joining member or the carriage. A guide part hole for inserting the guide part, the ink discharge direction and position determining part, the carriage moving direction and position determining part and the holding part, an ink discharge direction and position determining part hole, a carriage moving direction and position determining part hole, and a holding part hole, are provided in the another of the joining member or the carriage.
