<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which the number of times of reproducing bit map data from print data is small and a printing time is short when density correction information is changed by calibration. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus 1 includes an image quality deterioration determination unit 101a which determines whether or not image quality deterioration occurs when the print data are converted into sRGB bit map data (hereinafter referred as RGB data) which can be held in the apparatus 1. When the printing of a plurality of copies is instructed, the RGB data are created and held, and printing is performed using the RGB data and the latest density correction information when the first copy is printed for the print data in which it is determined that image quality deterioration does not occur by the determination unit 101a.
