The battery (1) has multiple prismatic battery single cells (2), which include welded electrode stack. The single cells are braced together with frames e.g. intermediate frame (3) and half frames. Films i.e. composite sheet, are circumferentially welded around the stack. A circumferentially welded region is clamped between the neighboring frames. The neighboring frames comprise a recess such that the welded region is exposed between the stack and an edge of the single cells. The sheet is made from an aluminum alloy and a plastic material i.e. thermoplastic plastic material.
