<p>[Problem] To prevent a heat pump from operating when the temperature of the supplied water is high in a water heater capable of heating water in a hot water storage tank with both a heat pump and a solar energy collector. [Solution] The water heater of the present invention is equipped with: a first hot water storage unit (1); a second hot water storage unit (2); a solar energy collector (31) that is connected to the first hot water storage unit (2) and that heats at least the aforementioned first hot water storage unit; and a heat pump (10) connected to the aforementioned second hot water storage unit, and constructed such that when the temperature of the second hot water storage unit is lower than the temperature of the first hot water storage unit, the aforementioned heat pump heats the second hot water storage unit, and when the temperature of the second hot water storage unit is higher than the temperature of the first hot water storage unit, the aforementioned heat pump heats the first hot water storage unit and the second hot water storage unit.</p> |
