<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of further properly restricting operations of operation means. <P>SOLUTION: In an image reading apparatus, a scanner unit 40 includes: a CIS module 76 having a light source unit 71 and a CIS 74 for receiving a catoptric light after light emitted at the light source unit 71; a carriage motor 78 disposed adjacently to the CIS module 76 for starting operation with generating heat when the CIS module 76 performs reading process; a determination part 51 for determining whether measurement dark-time data read by the CIS module 76 at a dark time is positioned within a prescribed reference dark-time range defined in association with the temperature of the carriage motor 78; and a control part 53 for controlling the CIS module 76 and the carriage motor 78 so as to perform reading processing to read a document when the measurement dark-time data is positioned within the reference dark-time range, and restricting the operation of the carriage motor 78 relative to the above reading processing when the measurement dark-time data is positioned out of the reference dark-time range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
