<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method for preventing wear and filming of an image carrier, contamination of a charging member, and pass-through of toner by supplying only an image carrier protective component and a lubricant component from developer; and stably providing images having excellent quality for a long period, as well as a process cartridge, and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming method is provided that includes a developing step for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier with developer. The developer contains a granulated material including an image carrier protective component including a fatty acid metal salt, and a lubricant component formed of at least any one of silica, alumina, acrylic particles, and boron nitride; and toner.
