<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system of a vehicle which can enhance fuel consumption by optimizing the execution of slip control. <P>SOLUTION: An ECU acquires gradient data from a navigation system (Step S2) and determines whether or not a downward slope continues over a predetermined pre-read section Pf from a current position when an accelerator is determined to be turned OFF (YES in Step S1). The ECU calculates a slip fuel consumption amount Fslip together with an idle fuel consumption amount Fidle (Step S5) when the downward slope is determined to continue over the predetermined pre-read section Pf (YES in Step S3). Additionally, ECU 10 performs slip control (Step S8) when a value of the slip fuel consumption amount Fslip is determined to be less than an idle fuel consumption amount Fidle (YES in Step S6) by comparing the slip fuel consumption amount Fslip with the idle fuel consumption amount Fidle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
