PURPOSE: A sodium sulfide battery and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to increase battery capacity without degradation of a NaS battery and to simplify manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION: A NaS battery comprises a tubular sodium electrode, a solid electrolyte tube(20) having a form corresponding to the sodium electrode and covers outside of the sodium electrode, and a sulfur electrode(30) which surrounds outside of the solid electrolyte pipe. The sodium electrode, a solid electrolyte pipe, and a sulfur electrode have flat pipe form or square pipe form. A manufacturing method of the NaS battery comprises the following steps: a step of preparing flat pipe formed or square pipe formed solid electrolyte tube; a step of forming sulfur electrode which surrounds outside of the solid electrolyte pipe; and a step of inserting tubular sodium electrode having a form corresponding to form of the solid electrolyte pipe into the solid electrolyte tube.
