PURPOSE: A method for estimating tensor type dispersion coefficient using vertical profiles of velocity in streams is provided to perform the accurate river water quality analysis. CONSTITUTION: A method for estimating tensor type dispersion coefficient using vertical profiles of velocity in streams comprises the following steps: inputting geographical data, the flow rate, and water depth data of a target stream in a main memory; a CPU(central processing unit) generating water depth average flow rate data using a two-dimensional flow analysis model on the main memory and the inputted data; generating vertical current data and vertical current deviation using the CPU; and generating the tensor type dispersion coefficient the CPU.
