PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for receiving random accessing signals in a wireless communication system are provided to reduce complexity for receiving uplink random access signals by restricting the number of random access signal sequences for confirming the transmission of a base station. CONSTITUTION: A controlling signal extractor(105) extracts random access signals from signals received through an antenna. Signal sequence generators(107-1 to 107-n) multiply candidate signal sequences to the random access signals in order to generate signal sequences. A signal sequence selector(109) selects signal sequences to be detected by calculating the differential correlation of signal sequence components at a sub carrier wave position adjacent to the signal sequences. Detectors(113-1 to 113-npre) detect the selected signal sequences.
