PURPOSE: A direction control valve for an air conditioner is provided to improve the efficiency of an air conditioner by preventing the leakage of internal fluid from the direction control valve. CONSTITUTION: A direction control valve for an air conditioner comprises a valve body(110), a switching spool(130), a cover unit(120), a drive shaft(160), a driving unit(170), and a sealing unit(140). At least one end of the valve body is open, and the valve body has an inlet and a plurality of outlets for drawing in and out fluid. The switching spool determines the fluid flow direction of a main valve according to the sliding position inside the valve body, thereby selecting a cooling or heating mode of an air conditioner. The cover unit is coupled to the open end of the valve body. One end of the drive shaft is coupled to the switching spool while the other end is installed to protrude outside through the cover unit. The driving unit is arranged outside the valve body and applies a driving force to the other end of the drive shaft to slide the switching spool. The sealing unit is installed between the switching spool and the cover unit in order to prevent the leakage of the fluid in the valve body through the contact part between the cover unit and the drive shaft. |
