RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE AND VIDEO-RECORDING RESERVATION SETTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device selects a reservation candidate program out of detected related programs according to a predetermined selection rule, and presents the selected candidate program to a user.

SOLUTION: The recording and reproducing device includes reproduction means (311) of reproducing a recorded program stored in a storage medium; program table management means (321) of managing program table information; related program detection means (324) of detecting programs related to the recorded program from the program table information when the reproduction means stops reproducing the recorded program; selection means (324) of selecting a video-recording reservation candidate program out of the detected related programs according to the predetermined selection rule; operation support window generation means (325) of generating an operation support window for presenting menu items including information on the video-recording reservation candidate program; and support window display means (326) of displaying the generated operation support window.
