The application relates to a method for analyzing a grinding stock, wherein the method comprises the following steps: filling a grinding system of a colloid mill (1) with grains of a grinding stock to be analyzed, crushing the grains of the grinding stock to be analyzed by means of the grinding system (3), and analyzing at least one of the following measurement variables for the grains of the grinding stock to be analyzed with the aid of a measurement device (4) associated with the colloid mill (1) during the crushing of the grains in the grinding system (3): a grinding force acting on the grains and a torque acting on the grains. The application further relates to a device for analyzing a grinding stock.
