[Also in Division F2] In a masted lift truck, a support 18 carrying load-gripping arms (not shown) is rotatably mounted on bearings 72, 80 on a plate 30 supported on the lifting carriage and is rotatable by double-acting hydraulic rams 36, 40 secured to brackets 32, 34 on the plate 30, the pistons 62, 50 of which are formed with racks 64, 54 meshing, through openings 65, 56 in the ram cylinders, with a pinion 66 secured to the support 18. The ram cylinder 40 is provided on its underside, opposite the opening 56, with a cylindrical boss 94 having a bore 96 to receive a phenolic or nylon bearing block 98 which is contoured to the radius of the piston 50 and which is supported by a spacer member 102, extending through a bore 100 in the bracket 34 and supported by a plate 104. |
