DISPLAY DEVICE USING INFRARED SENSOR MODULE AND METHOD THE SAME

PURPOSE: A display device using infrared ray(IR) sensor modules and a method for driving the same are provided to convert the IR sensor modules and an IR sensor module controller into low power modes. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of IR sensor modules(120, 150, 180) optically detects touch positions on a display panel. An IR sensor module controller(114) successively drives the IR sensor modules. Unless a touch operation is executed for a preset period of time or if a display panel is in a low power mode, the IR sensor module controller is converted into a low power mode. A system(110) supplies the state of the display panel to the IR sensor module controller.
