The coupling arrangement has pipe (1) with connecting portion (4) integrally connected with fastening portion (3). A metal holding ring (7) is mounted on connecting portion. The outer diameter of holding ring corresponds approximately to outer diameter of pipe. The end face of holding ring facing the pipe extends along screw thread corresponding to screw thread of pipe. The holding ring is connected fixedly to connecting portion in mounted position by resting fixedly and tightly against end face of pipe. An independent claim is included for method of fastening coupling portion to the end of helically undulated pipe.
