ONU APPARATUS AND SYNCHRONIZATION METHOD IN CABLE NETWORK

PURPOSE: An optical network unit(ONU) device and a method for synchronizing the same in a cable network are provided to improve the transmission quality and the bandwidth of the cable network. CONSTITUTION: A cable modem(510) receives synchronization information from a head end through an optical line. An edge-quadrature amplitude modulation(EQAM) part(540) implements synchronization with a cable modem termination system(CMTS) in the head end based on the synchronization information and modulates received signals into radio frequency signals for a subscriber unit. The EQAM part is in connection with the subscriber unit through a coaxial line. The received signals are input the ONU device through the optical line.
